A delegation of the Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea on Health and Welfare visited Uzbekistan’s Senate.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korea, as well as the development of inter-parliamentary relations.
First Deputy Chairman of the Senate Sodik Safoyev noted that over the past five years, bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Korea have risen to a qualitatively new strategic level. Cooperation with the Republic of Korea is developing in almost all areas, including in inter-parliamentary relations.
The parties exchanged views on new projects in healthcare, including the joint creation of new clinics, the launch of pharmaceutical clusters, and the provision of regional medical institutions with advanced technology.
Many projects are being implemented in cooperation with Korea Foundation for International Healthcare. They cover important areas in healthcare and training of medical personnel, advanced training of specialists, and improvement of the diagnosis of various diseases.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on further enhancing inter-parliamentary relations and continuing mutually beneficial cooperation.
