Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan Kim Hee-sang.

During the talks, special attention was paid to the current state of inter-parliamentary relations and their development in the future. The commission of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis on cooperation with the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea and the Korea – Uzbekistan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Association are functioning fruitfully.

The Chairperson of the Senate noted that the Republic of Korea is a reliable and time-tested partner for Uzbekistan. Parliaments play an important role in strengthening high-level bilateral strategic ties. The importance of continuing effective joint work at the highest level to implement systemic parliamentary control over the practical implementation of the agreements reached between the two countries was noted.

Ambassador Kim Hee-sang expressed gratitude for the sincere reception and noted the importance and value of the friendship formed between the two countries for the Republic of Korea and the significant role of parliamentary diplomacy in further enhancing such a strategic partnership.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on deepening cooperation in the textile industry, as well as mutual support for the initiatives of the two countries at the international level.
