Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva met with a delegation led by the Committee Chairman at the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea for Environmental Protection and Labor Jeon Hae-cheol.
The parties discussed multifaceted cooperation, the current state and prospects for developing inter-parliamentary ties between the two countries, and the activities carried out by Uzbekistan and Korea in ecology, environmental protection, labor, and employment.
Tanzila Narbayeva focused on the need for consistent continuation of the political dialogue between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, including the importance of establishing systemic cooperation on developing projects in labor migration, green energy, digital infrastructure, expanding legal, organizational, and institutional opportunities in this direction.
Jeon Hae-cheol noted that the Republic of Korea is implementing several major investment projects in Uzbekistan and is interested in their further expansion. Priority attention will be given to projects to restore clean drinking water resources in the Aral Sea region and mitigate other consequences of environmental problems.
Jeon Hae-cheol congratulated on successfully holding an important political event in Uzbekistan – the referendum- and stressed that cooperation between the two countries is strengthening yearly. At the same time, he noted that eradicating forced and child labor in Uzbekistan was highly appreciated internationally. Further activation and expansion of the scale of official immigration work are planned.
The parties expressed their readiness to bring the inter-parliamentary relations of the two countries to a new level, to establish cooperation not only in labor relations and ecology, but also in other areas.
