Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan filmmakers to shoot an animated film about Khoja Nasreddin
Filmmakers from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan will join the production of Timur Bekmambetov's new animation project about the adventures of the legendary hero of the East Khoja Nasreddin. Bazelevs Film Company will open animation schools in the countries, which will later turn into full-fledged studios. They will take part in the production of the animated film “Khoja Nasreddin” and other projects.
The parties agreed on this during the Tashkent International Film Festival “Pearl of the Silk Road”. The corresponding agreement was signed within the framework of a panel session between Russia and Central Asian countries.
Khoja Nasreddin is a favorite hero in Central Asian countries and people believe that his homeland is here. We are glad that we will work together on an animated film about the adventures of the beloved hero of fairy tales and parables at his home – in the East, in Central Asia, and local artists will also be responsible for creating the animation”, Timur Bekmambetov commented.
