Uzbekistan jointly with KOICA implements a new program

Tashkent hosted the opening ceremony of the workshop “Capacity building program for the creation of Integrated management of infectious diseases in Uzbekistan” organized by the Korea International Cooperation Agency KOICA within the framework of the Special Integrated Rapid Response Program to COVID-19 in 2021.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Director of KOICA Uzbekistan Ms. Park Sunjin, professors of Yonsei University in Korea, experts, as well as specialists from specialized organizations for the control of infectious diseases in the healthcare system of Uzbekistan, including the Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tashkent Medical Academy, Research Institute of Virology, Center for the Development of Professional Qualifications of Medical Workers under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Several programs for the prevention and control of infectious diseases in Uzbekistan have been developed between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and KOICA on strengthening the capacity of the administrative apparatus of the Ministry of Health in prevention and control, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, the creation of a quality control system for laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases, the creation of a national system for monitoring infectious diseases and vaccination.

The workshop is aimed at developing a curriculum to improve the epidemiological investigation of infectious diseases, assessing viral air pollution in rooms, surfaces and personal protective equipment in specialized hospitals for the treatment of COVID-19, identifying markers for predicting a favorable course of pregnancy and childbirth in women with heart disease who have undergone COVID-19.

Specialists from Korea will conduct offline and online workshops for two weeks.
