Ambassador of Uzbekistan Mukhsinkhoja Abdurakhmonov held talks with the State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Ishii Masahiro.

The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and the results achieved over the 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry noted that Uzbekistan is an important partner of Japan in the Central Asian region and the Government of Japan will continue the development of bilateral ties in the economic, trade, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The parties also discussed issues of enhancing cooperation and implementing new projects on the introduction of efficient technologies in the modernization of water treatment and sewerage facilities with JICA.

The sides considered issues of the Ministry’s assistance in attracting direct Japanese investment in the implementation of projects based on public-private partnerships in the pharmaceutical, textile and electrical industries.
