Uzbekistan, Japan discuss inter-parliamentary cooperation issues

Uzbekistan delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Furkat Sidikov met with a member of the House of Representatives of the Parliament, Head of the Executive Committee of the Japanese Parliamentary League of Friendship with Uzbekistan Keisuke Suzuki.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of relations between the two countries, as well as issues of further deepening inter-parliamentary cooperation.

The Japanese side was informed in detail about the essence and significance of the large-scale changes and constitutional reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan.

In turn, the representative of the Japanese Parliament highly appreciated the active participation of the general public of Uzbekistan in the nationwide discussion of the Draft Constitutional Law, the importance of taking into account the opinions and proposals of all segments of the population in this process.

Following the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the development of relations between the political parties of the two countries, the expansion of cooperation in tourism, as well as at the interregional level.
