Uzbekistan is exploring the possibility of creating a financial center with the support of TheCityUK
15:37 / 2024-05-31

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in London hosted a meeting with Steve Byrne, a consultant of TheCityUK.

The parties discussed issues of establishing cooperation with British financial organizations and creating a financial center in Uzbekistan, taking foreign experience into account.

TheCityUK is an influential non-governmental organization that unites more than 160 London banks, consulting firms, and companies. According to the organization, 12 percent of the British economy’s funds pass through it.

Steve Byrne highly appreciated the reforms to improve the investment climate in Uzbekistan and expressed great interest in developing financial projects in the country based on modern approaches. Following the meeting, the parties agreed on regular consultations to work out the details of the partnership.

Creating a financial center in Uzbekistan will attract additional investments and strengthen the integration of the national economy into the global financial system. This step aligns with the country’s comprehensive development policy and strengthening international relations.
