The Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries hosted an international conference on “Implementation of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination: International and National Standards”.

At the international conference on “Implementation of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination: International and National Standards” that was held at the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, issues of implementation of the state policy on interethnic relations were discussed.

The event, organized by the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan and OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan, was attended by senators, deputies, representatives of diplomatic corps, as well as ministries, agencies and relevant organizations.

It was noted that in the process of reforms in Uzbekistan, special attention is paid to ensuring and strengthening friendship and harmony among representatives of different nationalities living in the country. In this process, a significant role is played by the work carried out by the national cultural centers operating in the country, friendship societies and their support from the state.

Proposals on implementation of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, fulfillment of targets on the eighth and ninth national report, and preparation of the next national report were considered at the event.
