Uzbekistan – Iraq Business Forum held in Tashkent

Tashkent hosted the Uzbekistan – Iraq Business Forum, the first large-scale platform of its kind, bringing together the business communities of Uzbekistan and Iraq.

The forum was attended by the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov.

The event brought together more than 300 entrepreneurs and representatives of relevant organizations from both countries, as well as high-level official guests from Iraq, including the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Iraq, Atheer Dawood Al Ghurairi, and senior officials from the National Investment Commission and the Iraqi Economic Council. The Uzbek side was also represented by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Davron Vakhabov.

During the forum, priority areas of cooperation were identified, including pharmaceuticals, the production of construction materials, agriculture and processing, the electrical engineering and automotive industries, the food and furniture sectors, as well as the development of industrial cooperation and the establishment of joint ventures.

Participants paid special attention to expanding mutual trade and diversifying trade turnover. The high potential for supplies of pharmaceutical products, construction materials, electrical goods, household appliances, food and fruit and vegetable products, textiles, furniture, automotive components, and industrial equipment was noted.

Memorandums of understanding and commercial agreements were also signed, and B2B meetings were held, during which entrepreneurs discussed specific projects and partnership models.
