On 5 July 2022, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that the Iranian side fully supports the efforts of Uzbekistan's leadership to ensure peace, tranquility and interethnic harmony in the country.

Current issues of expansion of Uzbek-Iranian multifaceted relations, primarily in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres were considered.

The parties exchanged views on various aspects of the upcoming events at various levels.

The foreign ministers congratulated each other on the upcoming Qurbon Hayit holiday, wishing the peoples of Uzbekistan and Iran well-being and prosperity.
