Uzbekistan, Iran develop cooperation in transport and transit
The Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Mahkamov met with the leadership of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in Tehran.
The parties discussed issues of further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in transport and transit, the implementation of joint measures to create favorable conditions for freight traffic and the opening of new multimodal transport corridors.
The Iranian side announced its readiness to stimulate cargo transportation by rail and seaports of Iran, as well as create favorable conditions for the formation, storage and transportation of goods in the northern and southern ports of the country.
Following the meeting, agreements were reached on the continuation of joint practical actions to further increase the efficiency of the transport and transit potential of both countries.
