Uzbekistan – Indonesia to develop inter-parliamentary relations

Chairman of the Committee of the Legislative Chamber for Defense and Security Issues Erkin Salikhov and deputies met with delegation members led by Vice Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives’ Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee Putu Supadma Rudana.

At the meeting, the guests were informed about the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, efforts to implement the norms of the renewed Constitution, and the main activities of the Legislative Chamber, factions, and committees.

Putu Supadma Rudana stressed that the international community highly appreciates President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s balanced, open, and constructive foreign policy.

He also noted that further expansion and strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation, an essential factor in the development of bilateral relations, and the intensification of dialogue in this direction are beneficial in all respects.

During the dialogue, the intensification of the political and economic dialogue between the two countries was positively assessed, and issues of strengthening cooperation in investment and trade, as well as cultural-humanitarian spheres, were discussed in detail.

At the meeting, held in the spirit of openness and constructive exchange, issues of enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation at various levels, developing tourism potential and opportunities, and enriching them with new content were discussed.
