The delegation led by the Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia Rachmat Gobel has met with the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nurdinjon Ismoilov.
The Indonesian delegation was provided with detailed information about the activities of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, political party factions and committees.
The opening of branches of leading universities of Indonesia in Uzbekistan, the development and practical implementation of joint programs for training in popular professions was discussed at the meeting.
The parties noted the need for enhancing effective cooperation through the implementation of joint projects that are important for both countries.
Issues of further development and deepening of cooperation in tourism, including pilgrimage tourism, as well as in the cultural-humanitarian sphere were also discussed.
The delegation led by Rachmat Gobel held talks with the Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov on the prospects for deepening Uzbekistan – Indonesia cooperation in the political, investment, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
The parties also indicated their readiness to implement practical measures to increase the volume of bilateral trade by expanding mutual supplies of Uzbekistan and Indonesia demanded products, as well as strengthening the relevant legal framework by accelerating preparations for signing agreements on preferential trade and cooperation in plant quarantine.
The main attention was paid to enhancing cooperation in the development of hotel business and tourism. In particular, in August this year, representatives of the Indonesian Ulema Council will visit Uzbekistan, with the inclusion of Indonesian businesspeople in its composition to discuss the prospects for cooperation in the pilgrimage tourism between the two countries.
