On April 14, an online conference “Uzbekistan and Indonesia: Indonesia's experience in implementing the Islamic economy and prospects for cooperation” took place.
The conference was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Jakarta, Paramadina University and Indonesian National Committee on Sharia Economics and Finance.
It was attended by agencies and universities of Uzbekistan, including Bukhara State University, Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, Namangan State University and others.
Director at Indonesian National Committee on Sharia Economics and Finance, Sultan Emir Hidayat, and Vice-Rector of Paramadina University, Handi Riza, addressed the event.
Detailed information was provided about Indonesia's experience in implementing the principles of Sharia economy and Islamic banking. In particular, the strategy and the roadmap on the current state policy of Indonesia in this direction were presented.
The participants discussed the implementation of the halal standard in the economy and the functioning of the halal tourism infrastructure, as well as joint research projects.
The parties reached an agreement on joint training of relevant personnel.
