13:00 / 2022-08-20

A meeting was held with Deputy National Security Adviser to the Prime Minister of the Republic of India Vikram Misri, who arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the 17th meeting of the SCO Security Council Secretaries.

Views were exchanged on a wide range of issues of regional security, as well as current issues of further strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and India in security, defense, military and military-technical cooperation.

A new level of multifaceted relations, achieved in recent years based on the principles of trust, consideration of each other’s interests and constructive cooperation, was noted.

The demand for a permanent mechanism of consultations between the Security Councils of the two countries was emphasized to effectively coordinate joint efforts in security.

The parties confirmed their commitment to enhancing interaction in countering the growing threats caused by international terrorism and extremism, transnational organized crime, drug trafficking and other challenges to regional security.
