Uzbekistan – India: Implementation of the agreements reached is under parliamentary control

The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva, held negotiations in Saint Petersburg with the Speaker of the Lok Sabha (lower house of the Indian Parliament), Om Birla.

The parties discussed expanding political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, tourism, and inter-parliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and India.

During the dialogue, attention was focused on the practical aspects of the development of interparliamentary relations.

It was emphasized that systematic parliamentary control over the implementation of agreements reached at a high level and the exchange of experience in lawmaking and electronic parliament by organizing mutual visits are necessary.

The parties reaffirmed their commitment to the development and approval of a draft document on strengthening cooperation, covering these aspects.
