Uzbekistan in the Global Innovation Index: Achievements and Challenges for the Future
09:41 / 2025-10-12

The conference “Global Innovation Index 2025: National Presentation” was held within the framework of InnoWeek 2025, where the results achieved by Uzbekistan were analyzed. In particular, Uzbekistan ranked 79th in the index out of 139.

The inextricable link between the structural indicators of the rating and the priority international ratings and indexes for the country, the positive impact of improving the assessment of these indicators on other international ratings, and ensuring Uzbekistan’s entry into the top 50 countries by 2030 were emphasized.

Sacha Wunsch-Vincent, Head of Section of Economics and Statistics Division of the World Intellectual Property Organization, who made a presentation on “Uzbekistan’s results in the ranking of the Global Innovation Index in 2025”, attended the event. During the presentation, the expert expressed his opinion on the upcoming tasks and made specific suggestions.

It should be noted that Uzbekistan joined the rating for the first time in 2015, ranking 122nd among 141 countries. In 2020, Uzbekistan took 93rd place, in 2021 – 86th place, in 2022 – 82nd place, in 2023 – 82nd place, and in 2024 – 83rd place among 132 countries.

This indicates that the measures taken in science and innovation demonstrate their effectiveness year after year.
