Uzbekistan improves its ranking in the Press Freedom Index by 24 positions
In the Press Freedom Index 2022, compiled by the international non-profit and non-governmental organization Reporters Without Borders, Uzbekistan improved its rating by 24 positions, rising from 157th to 133rd place, the Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov informed.
“In this regard, I congratulate the representatives of national journalism, the media on this significant success, which has become one of the results of important steps taken under the leadership of the President of our country to ensure freedom of speech, the formation of mass media expressing public opinion, as “fourth power”, Presidential Press Secretary said.
In 1993, the UN General Assembly proclaimed May 3 as World Press Freedom Day.
