Uzbekistan ranked 82nd among 132 countries in the ranking of Global Innovation Index 2022. The country has improved its ranking by 4 positions, thereby consolidating the positive dynamics observed over the past three years.
According to the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan, in 2015 Uzbekistan ranked 122nd among 141 countries. After a long break in 2020, the country returned to the ranking, rising by 29 positions among 131 countries, taking 93rd place. In 2021, the country ranked 86th. At the same time, Uzbekistan has risen by 7 positions in terms of innovation costs this year, taking 68th place, and according to the results of innovations, it has risen by 9 positions, taking 91st place.
This edition’s thematic focus on the future of innovation-driven growth provides a stance on whether stagnation and low productivity growth are here to stay, or whether we are about to enter a new era, where innovation spurts – the Digital Age and the Deep Science Innovation waves – bring about an economic uplift.
