Water management has a special place in the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary.

A joint Uzbekistan – Hungary expert group in water management has been established. The first meeting of the group has taken place.

At the event, Péter Kovács, Water Director at the Ministry of Interior of Hungary, presented the water management system of his country.

First Deputy Minister of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Nazarov made a presentation on the water sector of Uzbekistan. He provided detailed information on the work being carried out within the framework of the concept and strategy for the development of the water sector. Views were exchanged on the problems of drought management and irrigation in Hungary, measures to counter water scarcity and drought in Uzbekistan. Proposals were made for an action program for the next three years.
