Uzbekistan hosts the First International Women’s Chess Championship

The Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with FIDE, the Committee for Family and Women of Uzbekistan launched the First Women’s Chess Championship.

The championship, organized as part of the implementation of the resolution of the President “On additional measures for further promotion and development of chess” of August 5, 2022, will consist of 9 rounds and held in two groups. More than 100 chess players from 10 countries have registered to participate in the tournament.

The total prize fund of the championship is $50 thousand.

The tournament will run until March 12 this year.
