Uzbekistan hosts the 15th Forum of CIS Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia

Tashkent hosts the 15th Forum of CIS Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia. Representatives of science, education, culture and art are taking part in it.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov noted that in the country special attention is paid to the development of culture, art and science as priority areas of the reform process.

The forum, which is attended by over 200 representatives of the CIS creative and scientific intelligentsia, clearly demonstrates firm faith and a desire for cooperation and solidarity.

The congratulatory message of the Chairman of the Executive Committee – Executive Secretary of the CIS Sergey Lebedev to the participants of the event was read out. As noted, this forum will serve to further strengthen cooperation, at the same time, at the initiative of the leadership of Uzbekistan, new ideas and advanced projects are being implemented within its framework.

The theme of the forum “Humanitarian cooperation – thirty years of experience and development prospects” involves the discussion of plans for cooperation and the identification of priority areas and forms of work, taking into account modern realities.

At plenary sessions and meetings, scientists, teachers and creative workers are discussing new forms of interaction in education, continuity and innovation in working with young people, the formation of intercultural dialogue, mechanisms for joint integration in literature and book publishing. The central roundtable discussion was devoted to the main theme of the year declared in the CIS as the Folk Art and Cultural Heritage Year.

The culmination of the forum was the solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the Interstate Prize “Commonwealth Stars”, awarded for great achievements in art, science and education. The winners of the CIS Youth Prize “Commonwealth of Debuts” were also awarded.

By tradition, within the framework of the forum, Kyrgyzstan’s Karakol city transferred the status of the cultural capital of the Commonwealth to Saint Petersburg.

Another tradition of the forum is the organization of exhibitions reflecting the cooperation of the CIS countries in the humanitarian sphere. This time it is dedicated to the main events of thematic years in the Commonwealth countries.

As part of the cultural program, a performance by the CIS Youth Symphony Orchestra took place. The orchestra is one of the important projects of the Forum of CIS Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia.
