Uzbekistan hosted International Physics Olympiad named after the great thinker Ahmad al-Fergani.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Public Education together with Fergana Regional Hokimiyat and other ministries and agencies in accordance with the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to improve the quality of education and improve scientific research in physics” of March 19, 2021.

134 students from Russia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Oman and Uzbekistan attended the Olympiad. Representatives of 12 countries, including Belarus, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Turkey also attended the event.

First Deputy Minister of Public Education Usman Sharifkhodjayev and Deputy Hokim of Fergana region Fayzullo Qosimov congratulated the participants on their achievements.

Students from Uzbekistan won gold, two silver and five bronze medals.
