The Geology Week in Uzbekistan kicked off on April 25 this year.
The Ministry of Innovative Development is holding the “Scientific developments and startup projects of the University of Geological Sciences” exhibition within the framework of the week. Three research institutes are taking part in the event with over 10 scientific developments and about 10 startup projects.

Acting Rector of the University of Geological Sciences Maqsud Isakov noted that the main goal of the exhibition is to present scientific developments to foreign investors interested in the sector, and students studying in higher education institutions.
“The attention paid by the President of Uzbekistan to the geological system in recent years has created a great opportunity for professionals working in all sectors of the industry to come up with their scientific developments and startup ideas. Our research institutes, which have been operating for more than seventy years, are now located on the campus of the University of Geological Sciences and carry out activities together with our students and researchers in education, science, and practice. This will create a great basis for training personnel by world standards, the further development of the geology”, says Mr. Maqsud Isakov.

The University of Geological Sciences and the Ministry of Innovative Development have signed an action plan for scientific research for 2022-2024. According to the document, masterclasses are being held by employees of the two organizations. Negotiations are underway on startups and research internships for young scientists.
The exhibition will run until April 29.
