Uzbekistan hosts a conference dedicated to freedom of speech

Uzbekistan hosts International Week of Innovative Ideas from October 17 to 26.

As part of the week, an International Conference was organized on “Freedom of speech and development of the media, social networks in Uzbekistan as a way to expand democratic values”.

The event was opened by the Director of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Asadjon Khodjayev. He spoke about the work carried out in recent years to develop freedom of speech and the press in the country, ensure the people’s constitutional rights to information, and strengthen the principles of openness and transparency in the management of the state and society.

At the event, foreign and domestic experts delivered speeches. Opinions and comments were expressed on strengthening the protection of the media’s legitimate interests, providing comprehensive support for their activities, increasing the potential and competitiveness of personnel, and developing journalism.
