At the beginning of 1991, the share of women in the resident population of Uzbekistan was 50.6 percent, the State Statistics Committee reports.

By the beginning of 2022, this figure was 49.7 percent and decreased by 0.9 percent compared to 1991.

At the same time, as of the end of 2021, the number of small enterprises and micro-firms headed by women amounted to 36,472 units. Compared to 2020, the growth reached 177 units. It should be noted that the share of small enterprises and micro-firms headed by women in the total number of enterprises that submitted the report was 11.3 percent.
