Deputies of the Legislative Chamber are studying the issue of cooperation with the EAEU, whether the country will join the union as an observer or member. All the pros and cons are being considered, how the partnership will affect the sectors of the economy, labor migration, the environment and other spheres.
Participants noted the impact of cooperation on foreign trade, customs and tariff regulation, budget, banking and finance, employment, education, medicine, macroeconomic sustainability.
Proposals and conclusions were considered on the work carried out by ministries, state committees, organizations, leading research institutes and local experts on development of sectors of the economy, according to the measures taken.
According to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, taking into account the in-depth cooperation, attention was drawn to the results of a study by members of the government of medium and long-term scenarios for development of large sectors of the economy, including industries that are relatively protected from external competition, and their consequences.
After discussions, responses of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade S. Umurzakov and the Minister of Finance T. Ishmetov were noted. They were entrusted with tasks of in-depth study of the impact of integration of Uzbekistan into the Eurasian Economic Union on foreign trade, customs and tariff systems, the budget, cooperation in the banking and financial sector, macroeconomic stability, on prospects for further development of economic sectors, as well as summarizing the conclusions of leading foreign experts and specialists.
It was noted that deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis will continue discussions on cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Union. In the coming days, a parliamentary hearing on this issue is planned to be held at the Legislative Chamber.
