Tashkent hosted a conference “Day of the German Economy in Uzbekistan”.
More than 300 business community representatives of the two countries, investors, heads of ministries, agencies, and specialists participated in the conference.
– At the meeting with representatives of the German business community, there were not only investors, but also employees of large German banks, – says Farkhod Nurmuhammedov, Deputy Chairman of the Uzcharmsanoat Association. – Several agreements have been reached on many new projects. In particular, negotiations on several large projects in the leather industry will positively impact the further development of the leather and footwear industry, expansion of export geography, and production of high-quality products. At the meeting, the issue of establishing exports to the European Union and other countries of footwear and finished leather products by attracting large German shoe brands to our country was analyzed.
It should be noted that today, 219 enterprises with German investments are operating in Uzbekistan.
According to the conference program, themes such as “The German system of dual education in Uzbekistan: Opportunities and Prospects” and “Cooperation in the Energy Sector Development between Germany and Uzbekistan” were discussed.
