Intergovernmental consultations have been held on financial and technical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany, via videoconference.

The event was attended by the leadership of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany and heads of a number of relevant ministries and agencies of Uzbekistan.

During the consultations, views were exchanged on implementation of the current program of financial and technical cooperation and priority areas within the framework of practical cooperation in 2021.

German partners positively assessed the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan in key sectors and spheres of the economy. At the same time, special attention was paid to the existing opportunities for deepening cooperation in agriculture, healthcare, higher education, ensuring employment of the population, improving standardization and quarantine services, digitalizing the activities of state bodies of the country, as well as the integrated development of the Aral Sea region.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the preparation of a promising list of projects for 2021, taking into account the priority areas for Uzbekistan, in order to approve it within the framework of intergovernmental negotiations next year.
