12:25 / 2021-03-16

The Ministry of Innovative Development held a roundtable discussion on “Innovative development of nuclear medicine in Uzbekistan”.

The event was attended by representatives of the healthcare sector of Uzbekistan and Germany. The participants discussed issues related to proton therapy, radionuclide diagnostics and therapy, genetic diagnostics in oncology and digitalization, as well as priority investment areas.

Germany has great experience in the provision of modern medical services to the population. Significantly, comprehensive cooperation is developing between Uzbekistan and Germany. Virtual talks held between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel on March 12 this year will further strengthen collaboration between the two countries.

As the chief radiologist of the Ministry of Health Damir Zaredinov noted, great attention is paid in Uzbekistan to health improvement in oncology. Systematic work is being carried out in three directions.

Frederik Wenz, Chief Medical Officer of the Medical Center Freiburg, delivered a speech at the event. He shared his experience in medicine and oncology.

The participants of the event exchanged views on future activities and plans in medicine, in particular in oncology.
