Uzbekistan, Georgia enhance investment, trade and economic collaboration

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov has held virtual talks with the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natela Turnava.

The parties considered the current state and prospects of deepening investment, trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

According to the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the parties noted positive trends in the growth of a multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and Georgia and expressed their commitment to close interaction aimed at developing investment and economic ties by enhancing bilateral contacts at various levels.

At the meeting, the parties discussed priority areas of cooperation in industry, agriculture, transport, energy, healthcare, education and the banking and financial sector. The presence of all the necessary resources for a significant increase in the indicators of the economic partnership was emphasized.

The parties also agreed to create a joint working group to build up investment, trade and economic cooperation, headed by the deputy ministers of the two countries.
