Uzbekistan further develops the national statistics sector

Uzbekistan’s indicators in the World Bank’s Statistical Capacity Indicator are consistently growing. According to the results of 2020, the country took 61st place in the ranking, scoring 67.8 points out of 100 possible. Compared to 2016, the country rose by 62 positions, and compared to the 2019 report, by 16 positions.

This information was provided at a press conference held at the National Press Center on “Introduction of modern information and communication technologies into the activities of the State Statistics Committee”.

It was noted that large-scale activity is being carried out in Uzbekistan to develop the national statistics sector. The main attention was paid to the introduction of advanced ICT, automation and digitalization of statistical processes. Specialists of the committee have created an automated information system for online acceptance of statistical reporting eStat 4.0 and since March 2021, acceptance of 120 types of statistical reporting has been established.

Together with UNFPA, the aholi.stat.uz website was launched to cover the activities of the population census. The website gender.stat.uz was also developed to cover up the minimum gender indicators recommended by the UN Statistical Commission. The website of the National Sustainable Development Goals nsdg.stat.uz was developed and launched to monitor the implementation of national targets within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with the support of the United Nations Development Programme.

The lib.stat.uz website allows getting acquainted with a systematic list of methodological provisions and instructions of the State Statistics Committee, procedures for conducting and organizing statistical observations.

An interactive service has been introduced for convenient obtaining by users of data from the state register of enterprises and organizations based on ICT technologies.

The official website of the State Statistics Committee (stat.uz) according to the Open Data Institute (ODI) assessment system in London has reached the highest level – “Platinum”.
