Representatives of the Uzbekcosmos Agency, the Embassy of France in Uzbekistan and the French company Airbus discussed the implementation of the Geo Farm joint project, in the Hokimiyat of Samarkand region. The project is aimed at developing agriculture using space monitoring technologies.

The participants discussed work on agricultural lands in Oqdaryo, Payariq and Jomboy districts.

“The project is being implemented with the involvement of funding sources within the framework of the FASEP grant program of the French Government”, says Jasur Umarov, Department Head at the Uzbekcosmos Agency. – This will help to effectively plan and control yields, monitor and analyze the state of crops.

The project, which will last almost 1.5 years, with the direct support of Airbus, will collect data on agricultural land (about 2,000 square kilometers) and then conduct surveys.
