Uzbekistan delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov took part in the 14th Cooperation Forum “Republic of Korea – Central Asia”, in Tajikistan’s Dushanbe.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, this year the issues for discussion were the prospects for further development of cooperation in combating climate change, the green economy, ensuring carbon neutrality, healthcare and digitalization.

The head of Uzbekistan delegation outlined the vision of the country on the main issues on the agenda. It was noted that the Uzbek side is ready to take an active part in international efforts to promote the green agenda and curb the process of climate change. A proposal was made to develop coordinated measures to achieve carbon neutrality in the region’s economies.

The importance of continuing close coordination to counter the pandemic, including the production of vaccines, ensuring their availability, equitable distribution and recognition of vaccination certificates, was noted.

The expediency of creating a permanent platform for experts and IT specialists for the exchange of experience and the transfer of innovative solutions in digitalization was emphasized.

Taking into account that 2022 will mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and the Central Asian countries, it was proposed to develop a program for the joint celebration of this important date.
