A delegation led by the Adviser to the Ministry of Education in the interim government of Bangladesh, Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar, visited Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov.
The delegation’s visit included a conference titled “Education for Sustainable Development”.
The event was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bangladesh to Uzbekistan, Mohammad Monirul Islam.
The conference was opened by Rustam Kholmurodov, Rector of Samarkand State University.
Ambassador Mohammad Monirul Islam emphasized the importance of developing friendly relations and educational cooperation between the two countries, as well as the special role of historic Uzbekistan cities and the scientific heritage left by the nation’s great thinkers.
Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar then delivered a lecture on “Education for Sustainable Development”. He spoke about the importance of integrating sustainable development principles and innovative teaching methods into the education system, opportunities for academic and student exchange, the education system of Bangladesh, ongoing international projects, and joint scientific research between scholars of both countries.
Following the meeting, Mr. Kholmurodov thanked the Bangladeshi delegation for their visit, expressing readiness to expand mutual scientific and educational cooperation, effectively utilize laboratory resources, and establish strategic collaboration between the universities of the two countries.
