On March 29, Tashkent hosted international roundtable discussion on the current state and prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union countries.

The event, organized by the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with the Center for Research Initiatives Ma’no, was attended by academics, representatives of analytical circles, international, state and public organizations, independent experts, and journalists.

New opportunities for the development of partnership between Uzbekistan and the European Union in transport and logistics, trade, existing investment issues and their solution were discussed. In addition, the initiatives forwarded by the Central Asian countries, the new regional strategy of the European Union, were analyzed.

At the meeting, independent expert Rustam Makhmudov made a report on relations between Uzbekistan and the European Union in transport, logistics, trade cooperation. According to him, in conditions of political and economic changes taking place in the world, consideration of potential threats is very important for long-term cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union.
