Uzbekistan, EU enhance collaboration
Uzbekistan delegation led by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov held a presentation on the Constitutional reform in Uzbekistan, in Brussels.
The event was attended by representatives of EU institutions, including Deputy Managing Director of the European External Action Service, Luke Devine, Chairman of the EU – Uzbekistan Friendship Group Richard Czarnecki, as well as expert and analytical circles of Belgium.
Mr. Abdukhakimov informed about the meeting held by the President of Uzbekistan with members of the Constitutional Commission established by the Parliament to implement reforms.
The Deputy Prime Minister spoke about plans to introduce amendments to the Basic Law to strengthen the country’s democratic institutions.
In his speech, Luke Devine emphasized that the European side supports the course of reforms carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
