The Cultural Heritage Agency has been established under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Uzbekistan.

Regional departments of the Cultural Heritage Agency will be organized in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent.

The agency will deal with the protection of objects of material cultural heritage, the development of museums, the preservation of the uniqueness of specially protected historical and cultural territories, support for archaeological research, and the identification of cultural values ​​abroad related to the history of Uzbekistan. The agency’s jurisdiction will include the import and export of wealth of tangible cultural heritage, archeology and museums.
