14:30 / 2021-04-26

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Estonia Kadambay Sultanov has held talks with the Executive Director and Chairman of the Management Board of the Estonian E-Governance Academy (eGA) Hannes Astok.

The parties discussed practical measures of Uzbekistan – Estonian cooperation to fulfill the tasks stipulated by the decree of the President of Uzbekistan “On approval of the Strategy “Digital Uzbekistan 2030” and measures for its effective implementation” of October 5, 2020.

Hannes Astok emphasized that the introduction of e-Government in Uzbekistan is one of the key elements of the reform program under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. In this regard, the importance of the decree of the Head of the state, which approved the long-term large-scale strategy of practical measures “Digital Uzbekistan 2030”, was noted.

He expressed gratitude for assistance in organizing his visit to Uzbekistan on April 14-17, as a result of which a Memorandum was signed between eGA and the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan.

The document defines the main areas of partnership in the implementation of e-Government in Uzbekistan.

The parties considered joint practical steps aimed at improving the position of Uzbekistan in the UN E-Government Survey and familiarizing Uzbekistan specialists with the advanced knowledge of Estonia and other highly developed countries in this sphere.
