Uzbekistan has been elected a member of the UN Human Rights Council at the United Nations General Assembly for a three-year term.

On October 13, Uzbekistan was elected a member of the UN Human Rights Council at the United Nations General Assembly for a three-year term, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

According to the UN News Centre, 15 countries were elected to the Council for the next three years: Bolivia, the UK, Gabon, China, Cote d'Ivoire, Cuba, France, Malawi, Mexico, Nepal, Pakistan, Senegal, Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan. Human Rights Council is a body of the UN system consisting of 47 countries. Elections are held by secret ballot.
