Uzbekistan, Egypt to strengthen trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and inter-parliamentary ties
Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva met with the Second Deputy Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Phoebe Fawzy Girgis, who arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the Asian Women's Forum in Samarkand.
Issues of enhancing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Egypt, including in the trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as further strengthening inter-parliamentary ties, were discussed at the meeting.

During the conversation, the parties noted the need to share experiences on issues raised at the forum, particularly women’s economic empowerment and participation in innovation activities.

At the same time, the importance of supporting women, especially in rural areas, was emphasized.
An agreement was also reached on using parliaments’ capabilities to implement joint healthcare, science, and education projects.
