The Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Ibrohim Abdurakhmanov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Uzbekistan Thamer Fathi Abdussalam Hammad.
The parties discussed ways to elevate bilateral agricultural cooperation, enhance the effectiveness of current projects, and accelerate the implementation of promising initiatives. The current status of joint projects was analyzed, and specific proposals were put forward to expand initiatives in sugar production and increase export-import indicators.

The parties noted the need to strengthen scientific exchange and professional development programs in agricultural education and stressed the importance of expanding mechanisms for direct cooperation between educational institutions in Uzbekistan and Egypt.
The agenda also included prospects for cooperation in high-value areas, such as cotton farming, genetics, and breeding. Proposals for exchanging experience in these areas and establishing joint research centers were discussed. At the same time, agreements were reached to intensify contacts between representatives of the two countries’ business communities, support investment initiatives, and expand practical cooperation projects in the agricultural sector.
