The State Committee of Veterinary and Livestock Development of Uzbekistan is carrying out large-scale activities based on international experience to further improve the system of personnel training in the sphere, improve the quality indicators of personnel. Thus, the Twinning Project of Veterinary Education in Uzbekistan for 2020-2023 in cooperation with the University of Minnesota, is being implemented.

The main goal of this project is to improve the curricula of Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine, as well as the development of regulations for the transfer to a 5-year form of study of the Faculty of Veterinary Prevention. It is also planned to improve the qualifications of teachers, conduct online workshops, organize short- and long-term internships during the implementation of the project.

Within the framework of this project, a delegation consisting of representatives of the committee and professors of Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine has visited the University of Minnesota in the United States.

The agenda of the visit includes the familiarization with the material and technical base of the University of Minnesota, educational process, innovative technologies that are used at the university, the signing of a memorandum between the University of Minnesota and Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine.
