Uzbekistan delegation led by the First Deputy Minister of Housing and Communal Services, Chairman of JSC Uzsuvtaminot S. Saifnazarov visited the Republic of Korea on December 9-10.

Meetings were held with representatives of the Ministry of Environment, Korea Water Resources Corporation K-Water, Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND), Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd.

At the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea, the progress of a pilot project for the modernization of worn-out pipes in Mirabad district of Tashkent city was considered. An Agreement on the implementation of this project at the expense of grant funds from the South Korean government was signed.

At K-Water, the development of cooperation in water resources and water supply was discussed. Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between K-Water and JSC Uzsuvtaminot on strategic partnership in water supply and sanitation project.

It is planned to establish a permanent representative office of K-Water in Tashkent in 2021.
