The delegation led by the Chairman of the State Customs Committee Akmalkhodja Mavlonov visited Georgia.
A meeting was held between the heads of the customs services of both countries.
According to customs statistics, the foreign trade turnover between the countries for 8 months of this year reached 127.4 million dollars.
Pharmaceutical products and mineral waters are mainly imported from Georgia, and non-ferrous metals and food products are exported from Uzbekistan to this country.
However, taking into account the existing potential in both countries, there are still many untapped reserves. The Director General of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, Levan Kakava, highly appreciated the reforms carried out in the customs sphere of Uzbekistan.

The Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan noted that Georgia was able to make fundamental changes in the simplification and digitalization of customs control procedures. In this regard, it is important to study, master the experience and achievements of this country.
At the meeting, the parties provided information on the updates to the customs system.
Mr. Levan Kakava was awarded a commemorative sign “O’zbekiston Bojkhona Khizmatiga 30 Yil” (30 Years to the Customs Service of Uzbekistan) for his contribution to enhancing cooperation in customs.
The delegation visited the border customs post “Sadokhlo” on the Georgian-Armenian border.
Following the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation in training professional personnel in customs and a Protocol on the preliminary exchange of information were signed.
