Representatives of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan are participating in the 64th Session of the Harmonized System Committee, which is being held at the headquarters of the World Customs Organization in Brussels.

The issue of introducing amendments to the Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity and bringing into a single system of goods that are secondary to one type is being considered at the meeting. The relevant proposals were put forward mainly by countries such as the United States, China, Russia, Canada, South Korea, Japan, and EU member states, and now Uzbekistan has joined this list.

The International Convention on the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System was adopted in Brussels on June 14, 1983. Uzbekistan joined it on August 29, 1998.

Employees of the Customs Service of Uzbekistan are actively participating in the event, putting their proposals on the issues on the agenda of the meeting.
