Uzbekistan delegation took part in the 19th permanent session of the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The delegation of Uzbekistan was led by the First Deputy Director of the National Center for Human Rights Mirzatillo Tillabayev and the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the OIC, Ambassador Ulugbek Maksudov.
An international workshop was held on the role of national human rights institutions in promoting and protecting human rights in the OIC member states.
The participants discussed the prospects for the formation of the most optimal national models for the protection of all human rights, including the promotion of the rights to development in the OIC member states.
The head of Uzbekistan delegation M. Tillabayev informed about the latest achievements made by the national human rights institutions of Uzbekistan in human rights protection, close cooperation of the National Center for Human Rights with the UN human rights structures and the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Within the framework of the session, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Center for Human Rights of Uzbekistan and the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The Memorandum was signed by the First Deputy Director of the NCHR Mirzatillo Tillabayev and the Chairman of the OIC IPHRC Haci Ali Acikgul.
