Uzbekistan delegation takes part in the 11th plenary session of the TURKPA

Uzbekistan delegation led by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva, at the invitation of the Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan, took part in the 11th plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TURKPA), in the city of Cholpon-Ata.

According to the upper house of the Parliament, the meeting was also attended by the heads of parliaments of the member countries of the Assembly – Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye, deputy speakers of Hungary (which has observer status) and Turkmenistan (as a guest of honor).

In her speech, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis focused the attention of the participants on the use of the huge opportunities for cooperation between the parliaments of the Turkic-speaking countries that have not yet been used to solve urgent problems, using the mechanisms of parliamentary diplomacy.

At the meeting, a draft model law “On the development of social entrepreneurship” was adopted.

Following the event, the Cholpon-Ata Declaration and the decision to rename the name TURKPA into the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Countries were adopted.
