Uzbekistan delegation takes part in the Senior Officials’ Meeting of the OIC Member States, which is taking place on January 23-25 in the city of Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).
Uzbekistan delegation is led by the Ambassador of the country to Saudi Arabia, Permanent Representative to the OIC Ulugbek Maksudov.
The participants of the meeting gathered to prepare for the upcoming 48th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC to be held in March 2022 in Islamabad (Pakistan).
The 47th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers took place on November 27-28, 2020 in Niamey, Niger.
Representatives of 56 OIC member states are considering draft resolutions in the political, economic, human rights, international, informational, legal, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Draft special resolutions submitted by the Uzbek side on declaring the Aral Sea region a zone of ecological innovations and technologies and “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities” was considered.
Uzbekistan delegation held a presentation of a draft resolution on the Aral Sea. It was emphasized that efforts to create a zone of ecological innovations and technologies in the region are aimed primarily at improving the living conditions of the population living in the region, creating appropriate opportunities for them.
The meeting participants approved the draft document and recommended it for adoption at the 48th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.
